How to Replace the Piston Opel Sintra I

Piston, Replace Pressing Out of the Piston Pin Is Not Permitted. If the Piston, the Piston Pin or the Con�rod Is Defective, Always Replace All These Parts.

Remove piston with con�rod (1) - see operation "Piston with Con�Rod, Remove and Install".

Mark con�rod small end and upper part of con�rod stem with thermocolour pencil. When the required installation temperature is reached, the colour changes from green to black. The coloured line (arrow) must not change colour over its entire length but only up to the start of the con�rod stem. Heat new con�rod at upper part of con�rod small end with a hot plate.

Installation temperature: 280�C to 320�C max.

Installation position: beads (arrows) on con�rods point towards the flat (arrow) on the piston pin boss.

Con�rod (1), piston pin, piston (2).

Slide guide drift with new piston pin into piston as far as the stop.

Install piston with con�rod - see operation "Piston with Con�Rod, Remove and Install".
