How to Check the Timing

Remove front toothed belt cover - see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".

At fastening bolt of toothed belt pulley, turn crankshaft in normal direction of rotation to mark (2).

Notches on the camshaft pulleys must simultaneously align with the marks (1) on the cylinder head cover. If the timing is not correctly adjusted, see operation "Timing, Adjust". Turn crankshaft slowly and smoothly.

Install front toothed belt cover - see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".
