Detaching the Engine from the Engine Assembly Stand (KM412) to Carry Out This Operation, the Engine Must Be Removed and Mounted on the Engine Assembly Stand (KM412) - See Operations "Removing and Installing the Engine" and "Attaching the Engine to the Engine Assembly Stand (KM412)".
Hook the engine into the jib crane.
Detach the engine with adapters KM41216 (2) and KM41281 (1) from engine assembly stand KM412 (3).
Attach the engine to the front axle body:
Attach righthand engine damping block (on engine side) to front axle assembly - torque 53 Nm.
Attach lefthand engine damping block (on gearbox side) to gearbox - torque 53 Nm.
Detach the adapters KM41216 and KM41281 from the cylinder block.
Attach the lefthand engine damping block BRACKET (transmission side) (1) to the transmission or cylinder block - 53 Nm.
Attach the wiring harness plug (2) and fuel pipe to the fuel filter.
Attach the coolant pipe (3) to the lefthand engine damping block bracket (transmission side) and to the transmission - 10 Nm.
Attach the fuel pipes bracket (4) to the lefthand engine damping block bracket (transmission side) - 10 Nm.
Attach the power steering pump return hose (5) to the power steering pump. Attach the power steering pump highpressure pipe (6) to the power steering pump - 28 Nm.
Insert the oil dipstick guide tube (3). Attach the righthand engine damping block bracket (engine side) (4) to the cylinder block - 53 Nm.
Attach the oil dipstick guide tube to the righthand engine damping block bracket (engine side). Attach the oil filter housing (2) with heat exchanger to the cylinder block - 20 Nm.
Attach the heat exchanger coolant hose (1) to the coolant filler neck. Connect the wiring harness plug to the oil temperature sensor.
Attach the coolant hose to the thermostat housing (2), heat exchanger (4) and coolant pipe (3).
Attach the air conditioning compressor (6) to the main bracket for ancillary components - 20 Nm. Connect the air conditioning compressor wiring harness plug (5).
Tension the ribbed Vbelt tensioner by turning the cast hex (1) anticlockwise and position the ribbed Vbelt - note the running direction.
Place a wooden block between the air conditioning compressor and the front axle body.
Unhook the engine from the workshop crane.
Insert the righthand axle shaft with intermediate shaft and its bracket into the transmission. Attach the intermediate shaft bracket (1) to the cylinder block.
Insert the lefthand axle shaft into the transmission.
Attach the starter heat shield to the starter.
Install engine - see operation "Engine, Remove and Install".
Check the power steering oil level and correct if necessary - see operation "Filling and Bleeding the Hydraulic System" in group "M".
Check transmission fluid level and correct if necessary - see operation "Checking and Correcting the Transmission Fluid Level" in group "K".
