- 1. Open bonnet
Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.
- 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground cable
- 3. Raise vehicle
- 4. Detach oxygen sensor (catalytic converter control) cable harness plug (1)
- 5. Detach intake manifold support • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
- 6. Detach starter wiring harness • Unscrew 2 nuts (1)
- 7. Remove starter • Unscrew 2x bolt
- 8. Install starter • Tighten 2 bolts – Tightening torque 25 Nm
- 9. Install starter wiring harness • Tighten 2 nuts
- 10. Install intake manifold support • To intake manifold – Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 20 Nm • To cylinder block – Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 35 Nm
- 11. Connect oxygen sensor (catalytic converter control) cable harness plug.
- 12. Lower vehicle
- 13. Connect battery
- 14. Calibrate steering angle sensor • Switch ignition on
Note. Turn steering wheel once from right stop to left stop.
- 15. Program volatile memory
- 16. Close bonnet
