How to Remove and Install the Alternator Support Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet

Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.

  1. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground cable
  2. 3. Raise vehicle
  3. 4. Detach ribbed V-belt cover • Unscrew 3x bolt (1) • Detach clip (arrow)
  1. 5. Detach ribbed V-belt • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow • Use KM-913-A

Note. Mark direction of travel

  1. 6. Detach vacuum pump oil feed line (4) • Separate wiring harness plug from dynamic oil level check sensor • Place collecting basin underneath • Unscrew hollow bolt
  2. 7. Detach vacuum pump oil return hose (5) • From vacuum pump
  3. 8. Detach alternator wiring harness (2) • Unscrew nut
  4. 9. Remove alternator • Unscrew upper bolt • Remove screw connection

Note. Prise alternator out of bracket at bottom.

  1. 10. Detach 2x vacuum lines from brake servo • Unscrew union nut (3) • Pull off hose
  2. 11. Detach alternator wiring harness • Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)
  1. 12. Remove alternator
  2. 13. Remove alternator support • Unscrew 4x bolt (1)

Install

  1. 14. Install alternator support • Tighten 4x bolt
  2. 15. Insert alternator
  3. 16. Attach alternator wiring harness • Connect wiring harness plug
  4. 17. Attach 2x vacuum lines to brake servo • Tighten union nut • Attach hose
  5. 18. Install alternator • Tighten bolt (M8) 18,6 Nm • Tighten bolt (M10) 46,1 Nm
  6. 19. Attach alternator wiring harness • Tighten nut
  7. 20. Attach vacuum pump oil return hose
  8. 21. Attach vacuum pump oil feed line • Renew 2x seal rings • Tighten banjo bolt 24,5 Nm • Connect wiring harness plug to dynamic oil level check sensor
  9. 22. Install ribbed V-belt • Release ribbed V-belt tensioner • Use KM-913

Note. Note moving direction and installation position

  1. 23. Attach ribbed V-belt cover • Tighten 3 bolts • Fasten clip
  2. 24. Lower vehicle
  3. 25. Connect battery • Connect ground cable.
  4. 26. Check engine oil level and correct if necessary. • Observe specified engine oil quantity
  5. 27. Close bonnet
  6. 28. Program volatile memory
