Replace Alternator Support (Y 17 DT, with Air Conditioning, Lhd) Opel Meriva A

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground cable

Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.

3. 3. Raise vehicle
4. 4. Detach ribbed V-belt cover • Unscrew 3x bolts (1) • Detach clip (arrows)

5. 5. Detach ribbed V-belt • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow • Use KM-913-A

Note. Mark direction of travel

6. 6. Detach vacuum pump oil feed line (4) • Detach dynamic oil level monitoring wiring harness plug • Place collecting basin underneath • Unscrew hollow bolt
7. 7. Detach vacuum pump oil return hose (5) • from vacuum pump
8. 8. Detach alternator wiring harness (2) • Unscrew nut

9. 9. Remove alternator • Unscrew upper bolt • Unscrew bolt and nut

Note. Prise bottom of alternator (2) out of bracket and remove bolt (1).

10. 10. Remove brake servo vacuum line • Unscrew union nut (3)
11. 11. Detach alternator wiring harness • Detach wiring harness plug (1)

12. 12. Remove alternator
13. 13. Detach alternator bracket • Unclip wiring harness • Unscrew 4x bolts (arrows)

14. 14. Clamp alternator bracket
15. 15. Detach guide roller • Unscrew bolt
16. 16. Detach ribbed V-belt tensioner • Unscrew bolt
17. 17. Detach wiring harness bracket
18. 18. Re-clamp alternator bracket
19. 19. Install wiring harness bracket
20. 20. Attach ribbed V-belt tensioner • Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 50 Nm
21. 21. Attach guide roller • Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 38,2 Nm
22. 22. Unclamp alternator bracket

Install

23. 23. Install alternator bracket • Tighten bolt (M14) – Tightening torque 67,6 Nm • Tighten 3x M10 bolts – Tightening torque 48 Nm
24. 24. Insert alternator • Connect wiring harness plug
25. 25. Install alternator wiring harness • Connect wiring harness plug
26. 26. Attach brake servo vacuum line • Tighten union nut – Tightening torque 18 Nm
27. 27. Install alternator • Tighten bolt (M8) – Tightening torque 18,6 Nm • Tighten bolt (M10) – Tightening torque 46,1 Nm
28. 28. Install alternator wiring harness • Tighten nut
29. 29. Attach vacuum pump oil return hose
30. 30. Attach vacuum pump oil feed line • Renew 2x seal rings • Tighten banjo bolt – Tightening torque 21,6 Nm • Attach dynamic oil level monitoring wiring harness plug
31. 31. Install ribbed V-belt • Release ribbed V-belt tensioner • Use KM-913

Note. Note moving direction and installation position

32. 32. Attach ribbed V-belt cover • Tighten 3 bolts • Install clip
33. 33. Lower vehicle
34. 34. Connect battery • Connect ground cable.
35. 35. Calibrate steering angle sensor • Switch ignition on

Note. Turn steering wheel once from right stop to left stop.

36. 36. Check engine oil level and correct if necessary. • Observe specified engine oil quantity
37. 37. Close bonnet
38. 38. Program volatile memory
