Starter, Remove and Install
Disconnect ground cable from battery.
Engage 1st gear, as otherwise the removed starter cannot pass between the injection pump and shift linkage.
Unscrew upper starter fastening bolt (1).
RHD vehicles: Remove front left wheel, mark position to wheel hub. Loosen upper starter fastening bolt through transmission cutout in left wheel well.
Bolt can remain in bolt hole in transmission housing.
Unbolt cable terminal 30 and terminal 50 from starter (1).
Unscrew lower starter fastening bolt (2) and remove starter downwards.
Insert starter in opening on flywheel housing. Screw in lower fastening bolt (2). Fasten cable terminal 30 and terminal 50 to starter (1).
Screw in upper starter fastening bolt in starter.
RHD vehicles: Observe correct position of clutch cable bracket!
Connect ground cable to battery. RHD vehicles: Install wheel.
