How to Remove and Install the Alternator Opel Corsa B

Alternator, Remove and Install

Disconnect ground cable from battery.

Remove air intake pipe.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from right side member.

Unbolt vacuum pipe from vacuum pump (2).

Unbolt bracket for front right tension strut from crossmember.

For vehicles with stabiliser, unbolt both tension strut brackets from crossmember.

Remove oil feed hose (1) and oil return hose (2) from vacuum pump.

Unscrew bolt from mounting bracket (1) and bolt from clamp lever (2).

Remove clamp lever and V-belt.

Unscrew left fastening bolt (1) and remove alternator downwards out of engine compartment.

Alternator, Install

Insert alternator in mount and bolt to bracket. At the same time, also bolt clamp lever on pulley side. Tension V-belt on 1/2" opening (3) of clamp lever. Tighten all bolts.

Alternator to bracket50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft
Alternator to mounting bracket- 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft

Connect oil return hose (2) to vacuum pump.

Bolt oil feed line (1) to vacuum pump. Use new gaskets.

Oil pressure line to vacuum pump - 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.

Recut threaded bores for tension strut bracket in crossmember. Coat new bolts with locking compound. Bolt tension strut bracket to crossmember.

Tension strut bracket to crossmember - 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft. + 90�+ 15�

Bolt vacuum pipe to vacuum pump. Connect wiring harness plug on right side member.

Install air intake pipe.

Connect ground cable to battery.

Vacuum pipe to vacuum pump - 18 Nm / 13 lbf. ft
