Important: When working on the fuel system, it is essential to pay attention to cleanliness as even the smallest dirt particles can lead to faults in engine operation or in the fuel system.
Remove
- 1. Open bonnet
- 2. Disconnect battery • Detach earth terminal from the earth pole
- 3. Raise vehicle by the full height
Clean
Important. The metering unit and the environment of the metering unit must be completely clean and free of grease
- 4. Clean metering unit and surroundings
Remove
Important. Metering unit and surroundings must be cleaned again after loosening
- 5. Remove metering unit (1) • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Unscrew 3x bolt • Turn metering unit and remove horizontally
Important. Do not tilt metering unit
Install
Important. Remove dirt from the opening and on the sealing surface using a lint-free cloth
- 6. Install new metering unit • Coat gasket (1) with clean engine oil • Insert metering unit horizontally and turn • Tighten 3x bolt 6 Nm • Fix wiring harness plug
Important. Do not tilt metering unit
- 7. Lower vehicle by the full height
- 8. Connect battery • Attach earth terminal to earth pole
- 9. Programme volatile memories
- 10. Close bonnet
