How to Remove and Install the Engine Control Unit Opel Astra G

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Disconnect battery
3. 3. Raise vehicle • Half height
4. 4. Remove left front wheel
5. 5. Remove inner cladding of wheel arch • 2 fastening bolts • 1 clip

6. 6. Remove engine control unit • Detach wiring harness plugs (3) and (4) from engine control unit (2) • Remove engine control unit from holder (1)

Note. The security code must be reset with TECH 2 before removal when replacing or swapping engine control unit – see corresponding Checking Procedures

Install

7. 7. Install engine control unit • Install engine control unit in holder • Connect wiring harness plug to engine control unit – 2 off
8. 8. Replace cladding inside wheel arch • 2 fastening bolts • 1 clip
9. 9. Fit left front wheel • Tightening torque 110 Nm
10. 10. Lower vehicle • Half height
11. 11. Disconnect battery
12. 12. Programme transient memory
13. 13. Close bonnet
