Remedy:

In case of customer complaint a reprogramming of the Diesel-ECM has to be carried out.

Working procedures:

1. Reprogramming of Diesel-ECM with the Tech 2 application "SPS Programming"

Note: Check all Trouble Code Memories before reprogramming and delete any detected Trouble Codes.

Note: Tech 2 has to be connected with vehicle during reprogramming process. To ensure a constant power supply during reprogamming process, a suitable battery charger has to be applied.

Note: Modified software is available as of TIS 2000-DVD, version 87 for the symptoms below:

- Poor drive off performance when cold (automatic transmission and manual transmission with final gear ratio 4,357) - Turbo charger noise on deceleration (automatic transmission only) - Precipitate request for service (automatic transmission and manual transmission with final gear ratio 4,357)

Note: Modified software is available as of TIS 2000-DVD, version 88 for the symptoms below:

- Poor drive off performance when cold (manual transmission with final gear ratio 4,063) - Slight engine RPM surge around 1800-2200 RPM (manual transmission with final gear ratio 4,063 only) - Precipitate request for service (manual transmission with final gear ratio 4,063) - Inaccurate DIC fuel consumption reading

Note: After reprogramming is completed, any detected Trouble Codes (DTC´s) have to be deleted. If the Trouble Code Memory of the ABS-unit contains the DTC U2105 or U2107, it can take up to 20 seconds within the next drive cycle till the ABS warning light will turn off after deleting of this DTC´s.

The costs for this repair will be covered during the normal warranty. The regular warranty procedure should be used for claiming Set-up-time.
