Direct Ignition System (DIS) Replace

Remove

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the direct ignition system (DIS) connector.
3. Note the ignition wires' location and remove the ignition wires.

4. Remove the DIS retaining bolts.
5. Remove the DIS.

Install

1. Install the DIS into the mounting location and install the retaining bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the direct ignition system retaining bolts to 10 N•m (89 lb-in).

2. Connect the DIS connector.
3. Install the ignition wires.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
