Valve Stem Oil Seals Replacement Opel Agila B

Remove

  1. 1. Remove camshaft housing – see operation “Camshafts and/or Housing Replacement”

Important. Place hydraulic valve lifters in order so that they can be installed in their original position.

Important. Immerse the valve lifters in clean engine oil to ensure air does not enter the valve lifters.

  1. 2. Remove 16x rocker arm (1) with hydraulic valve lifter (2)
  1. 3. Remove 2x dowel (1)
  1. 4. Release 16x valve spring retainer using Release Tool KM-6171 (1)
  1. 5. Assemble MKM-6086 • Install 2x support MKM-6086-6 (1) – Install 2x bolt • Install pivot MKM-6086-8 (2) to shaft MKM-6086-4 (3) • Install supports to cylinder head shaft MKM-6086-4 (3) – Install 4x bolt

Important. Ensure application of compressed air

  1. 6. Install Adapter EN-46782 with Adapter EN-46783 (2) and MKM-6086-17 (1) to cylinder No. 1 • Install stud (5) • Install Adapter EN-46782 with seal and injector (4), cylinder No. 2 – Tighten nut (6) 20 Nm

Important. The Lever Arm Assembly MKM-6086 (1) must be positioned parallel to the valve spring collar to ensure that neither tools nor components are damaged. If the Lever Arm Assembly MKM-6086 cannot be positioned parallel, the lever must be adjusted accordingly.

Important. Place valve spring retainer, valve and valve spring seat in order so that they can be installed in their original position.

  1. 7. Remove valve spring assembly from cylinder head • Carefully depress valve spring with Lever Arm (3) MKM-6086-7 with Adapter MKM-6086-12 and Dismantling Head MKM-6086-11 (4) • Remove 2x collet (arrowed) • Remove valve spring retainer, valve, valve spring seat
  2. 8. Repeat procedure for remaining 15x valve
  1. 9. Remove 16x valve stem oil seal using KM-840

Install

  1. 10. Install 16x new valve stem oil seal • Apply clean engine oil • Use Valve Stem Oil Seal Installer EN-46779
  2. 11. Complete Assembly Head MKM-6086-100-1 • Put together assembly head consisting of Mount (1), Pressure Piece MKM-6086-100-15 (2), Spring (3), Clamping Sleeve (4), Screw (5) and Adapter Remover MKM-6086-12 (6) to assembly head
  1. 12. Install 2x valve collet to Assembly Head MKM-6086-100-1 • Push clamping sleeve (2) towards the lever arm holder • Insert 2x valve collet • Push clamping sleeve towards the valve • Attach assembly head to lever arm

Important. Insert valve collets with tapered end towards valve.

  1. 13. Insert valve spring retainer, valve, valve spring seat
  2. 14. Install 2x valve collet to valve • Carefully push valve spring downwards (arrowed) • Slide Clamping Sleeve (1) towards Adapter Remover MKM-6086-12 to engage 2x collet (2) to valve stem

Important. Assembly head (1) must stand vertically above valve stem.

Important. Ensure that valve collets (2) are correctly seated.

  1. 15. Repeat procedure for remaining 15x valve
  1. 16. Detach MKM-6086 • Unscrew 4x bolt
  2. 17. Install 2x dowel (1)

Important. Ensure the valve lifters are immersed in clean engine oil before installation.

  1. 18. Install 16x rocker arm (1) with hydraulic valve lifter (2)
  1. 19. Install camshaft housing – see operation “Camshafts and/or Housing Replacement”
