1. 1. Measure height of cylinder head from cover-side sealing surface to block-side sealing surface, for dimensions and tolerances see “Technical Data” • Remove gasket residue and clean sealing surfaces. No sharp-edged tools may be used when cleaning. Ensure that the cylinder head sealing surface is not damaged • Measure at a total of 6 locations • Check seating faces of cylinder head for manifolds, using a straight edge and thickness gauge, in order to determine whether these faces should be corrected or cylinder head replaced • If the values measured do not correspond to those specified, the cylinder head should be replaced
