Input Shaft Oil Seal Ring Replacement
- Remove solid oil seal rings from input shaft. Inspect seal ring grooves for nicks or burrs. Lubricate each oil seal ring, and position individually onto Seal Protector (J-34741-1). (Scheme 11)
- Quickly slide each seal into ring groove when protector is in position. Using Seal Driver (J-34741-2), push ring over seal protector. Size seal with Seal Sizer (J-34741-3). Gently twist seal sizer over each seal. Leave sizer in place until input clutch housing installation.

Bearing Replacement
Place case cover on clean flat surface with spacer plate mating surface up. Using driver handle, bearing remover and hammer, drive out bearing from case cover. To install, place case cover on clean flat surface with case mating surface up. Drive bearing into case cover until bearing installer stops against case cover.
Installation
Install oil pump assembly onto control valve body. Install bolts in specified locations. See OIL PUMP BOLT SPECIFICATIONS table under TRANSAXLE REASSEMBLY. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Install cover gasket to 2-1 manual band servo into case. Lubricate gasket with ATF. Install 2-1 manual band servo assembly into case. Ensure servo piston pin engages band. Install accumulator and cover assembly to 2-1 manual band servo into case. Install lube oil pipe into case at lube hole for differential carrier internal gear. Lock lube oil pipe retainer into case. Install manual cover bolts for 2-1 manual band servo and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Install accumulator cover bolts and tighten. see scheme 19
