Circuit Description
Internal Mode Switch (IMS) is a sliding contact switch attached to selector detent inside transaxle side cover. PCM receives 4 inputs from IMS to indicate position of transaxle range selector. Input voltage level at PCM is high battery voltage when IMS is open and low when switch is closed to ground. IMS parameters represented are signals "A", "B", "C" and "P". DTC P1820 will set if PCM detects low voltage input from IMS circuit "A" when transaxle shift selector is moved from Park to "D4".
