Turn OFF the ignition. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Note position of the spark plug wires before removing the wires. Twist the spark plug boot 1/2 turn before removing the boot. Pry the heat shield up from the spark plugs using the Spark Plug Boot Removal Tool (J 38491). Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs from the engine.
Gap the spark plugs to.060" (1.52 mm). Install the spark plugs. Tighten the spark plugs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
