Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-121 is stored if the ECC control module detects that the outside temperature sensor signal is missing or that there is a short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.

Possible Source

  1. Open-circuit in outside temperature sensor or signal cable.
  2. Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-122 is stored if the ECC control module detects a short-circuit to supply voltage in the outside temperature sensor signal cable.

Possible Source

  1. Short-circuit in the outside temperature sensor.
  2. Short-circuit to reference voltage in the signal cable from the outside temperature sensor to ECC control module.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-124 is stored if the ECC control module detects a short-circuit to supply voltage in the passenger compartment temperature sensor (in the ECC control module) signal cable.

Possible Source

  1. Short-circuit to supply voltage in the passenger compartment temperature sensor.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.

Checking diagnostic trouble code (DTC)

  1. Ignition on.
  2. Connectors connected.
  3. ECC control module connected. Erase the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).

  2. Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.

Possible Source

  1. Open-circuit in cable between generator (GEN) D+ and ECC control module.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Compressor does not start.
  2. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.
  3. The charging lamp in the combined instrument panel does not go out when the engine is running.

The voltmeter should show between 0.7 V and about 2 V.

  2. Damper motor potentiometer is short-circuited.
  3. Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-311 is stored if the ECC control module detects that the power supply from the ECC control module to the temperature damper motor is not approximately 10 V.

Possible Source

  1. Short-circuit to supply voltage or ground in power supply to temperature damper motor.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.
  2. Control module keeps the damper motor shut down for as long as the fault persists.

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-312 is stored if the ECC control module detects that the signal to the temperature damper motor does not assume a correct value within 12 seconds.

Possible Source

  1. Temperature damper motor blocked.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.
  2. The damper motor is stopped.

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-321 is stored if the ECC control module detects that the power supply from the ECC control module to the air distribution damper motor is not approximately 10 V.

Possible Source

  1. Short-circuit to supply voltage or ground in power supply to air distribution damper motor.

Fault symptom[s]

  1. Driver fault warning. The LEDs beside the A/C and REC switches flash for approximately 20 seconds.
  2. Control module keeps the damper motor shut down for as long as the fault persists.

Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-322 is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the damper motor does not assume the correct position approximately 12 seconds.

Possible Source

  1. Air distribution damper motor blocked.

Fault symptom[s]
