Outside temperature sensor (ECC), value

The climate control module calculates the passenger compartment temperature based on the signal voltage.

Evaporator temperature sensor (Electronic climate control, Manual climate control), value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

The climate control module calculates the evaporator temperature based on the signal voltage.

Engine coolant temperature (ECC), value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

The climate control module calculates the engine coolant temperature (ECT) based on the signal voltage.

Temperature damper motor position sensor, value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

The climate control module calculates the damper motor position based on the signal voltage.

Air distribution damper motor position sensor, value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

The climate control module calculates the damper motor position based on the signal voltage.

Parking heater, status

Displays the status of the parking heater.

OFF = Parking heater not activated

ON = Parking heater activated

30-supply, status

Displays the status of the 30 supply to the climate control module.

OFF = 30-supply missing

ON = 30-supply present

Ignition status

Displays the status of the 15 supply (ignition) to the climate control module.

OFF = 15-supply missing

ON = 15-supply present

Generator D+ (ECC), status

Displays the status of the D+ signal to the climate control module.

OFF = D+ signal missing

ON = D+ signal present

Selected fan speed, value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

Climate control module determines how the blower fan speed should be controlled based on the signal voltage from the blower fan control.

Blower fan resupply, value

Measurement range: 0-5 V

The climate control module checks the blower fan function from the re-supplied signal voltage.

A/C on, re-supply (ECC, MCC), status

The status displays the condition of the A/C signal from the climate control module.

OFF = A/C not activated

ON = A/C activated

Recirculation switch, status

The status displays the position of the switch on the climate control panel.

Not pressed in = Recirculation switch not pressed in

A/C switch (ECC, MCC), status

The status displays the position of the switch on the climate control panel.

The status displays the status of the blower fan relay (max relay).

Blower fan, value

Measurement range: 0-100%

The climate control module controlling speed signal, pulse width modulation (PWM) signal to the blower fan.

Recirculation LED, status

The status displays the condition of the LED in the recirculation switch on the climate control panel.

Not activated = LED not lit

Activated = LED lit

Defroster LED, status

The status displays the condition of the LED in the defroster switch on the climate control panel.

Not activated = LED not lit

Activated = LED lit

Left seat heater high LED, status

The status displays the condition of the LED in the left seat heater switch on the climate control panel.

Not activated = LED not lit

Activated = LED lit

Left seat heater low LED, status

The status displays the condition of the LED in the left seat heater switch on the climate control panel.

Not activated = LED not lit

Activated = LED lit

Right seat heater high LED, status

The status displays the condition of the LED in the right seat heater switch on the climate control panel.

Measurement range: 0 - 65535 seconds

The number of seconds calculated by the climate control module since the engine started and the D+ signal was supplied to the climate control module (generator charging).

Measurement range: -30 - 80°C

The outside temperature calculated by the climate control module.

Passenger compartment temperature (ECC), value

Measurement range: -30 - 80°C

The passenger compartment temperature calculated by the climate control module.

Evaporator temperature (Electronic climate control, Manual climate control), Value

Measurement range: -30 - 80°C

The evaporator temperature calculated by the climate control module.

Measurement range: -30 - 80°C

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) calculated by the climate control module.

Sun intensity (ECC), value

Measurement range: 0 - 65535 W/m 2

The sun intensity calculated by the climate control module.

A/C request (ECC, MCC), status

Indicates the status of the climate control module request for A/C.

Not requested = Air conditioning (A/C) not requested by the climate control module

Requested = Air conditioning (A/C) requested by the climate control module

Recirculation damper motor position, status

The status displays the position of the set positions of the recirculation damper motors as calculated by the climate control module.

Fresh air = the damper motor is calculated to be in fresh air.

Recirculation = the damper motor is calculated to be in recirculation.

Windshield wiper (ECC), Status

Indicates the status of the input signal from the windshield wipers.

Note. It takes approximately 1 minute for a change in status to be updated.

OFF = Windshield wipers not activated

ON = Windshield wipers activated

Blower fan relay maximum, status

The status displays the climate control module request for the blower fan relay (maximum relay).

Not activated = Blower fan relay not requested by the climate control module

Activated = Blower fan relay requested by the climate control module

Request for rear defroster, status

The status displays the climate control module request for the defroster relay

Not activated = Rear defroster relay not requested by the climate control module

Activated = Rear defroster relay requested by the climate control module

Heated Rear Windshield And Door Mirror Relay (Defroster Relay)

If the ignition is on, the relay for the heated rear windshield and door mirror relay position 1 must activate when the relay for the heated rear windshield and door mirrors is activated.

Relay coil resistance terminals #1 and #2: 78 ohms.

Scheme 58: Seat Heater Module

The seat heater module and climate control module communicate via communication line terminal #A9 in the climate control module and terminal #A2 in the seat heater module (left-hand side) and terminal #A10 in the climate control module and terminal #A2 in the seat heater module (right-hand side).

This communication allows faults detected in the seat heater to be diagnosed and the selected heat level (high or low) to be controlled with different pulse trains from the climate control module.

Power supply, seat heater module terminal #A4: +Ubat (measured from power ground).

Ground terminal, seat heater module terminal #A1: 0 V (measured from power ground).

Seat heater pad (backrest) terminals #C1 and #C2: 1.4 ohms - 2.0 ohms.

Seat heater pad (seat) terminals #B1 and #B4: 1.7 ohms - 2.3 ohms.

Thermistor at approximately 21°C terminals #B2 and #B3: 5.5 kohms.

Note. The above values apply to both the left and right seats.

Reading Off Parameters

Note. For the ECC system to function in the correct way, and to facilitate the fault-tracing, the knobs and switches on the front of the ECC control module must be in certain positions.
