Description of Component/Functions Activation
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Injector (1-5) | Injectors 1-5. The injectors open and close approximately 6 times per second. A clicking noise is heard from the injectors. The engine must be switched off. |
| A/C RELAY | A/C relay. Air conditioning A/C must be requested from the control panel. A clicking noise is heard from the air conditioning (A/C) relay and the magnetic clutch for the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. |
| ENGINE COOLING FAN (FC) STAGE 1/STAGE 2 | The speed of the engine cooling fan (FC) changes depending on which activation is selected. The fan can be heard. |
| MIL LAMP | Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). The engine must be running and the lamp off before activation. The lamp lights when the start button is pressed and goes out when the stop button is pressed. |
| ETS LAMP | Electronic throttle system warning lamp. The engine must be running and the lamp off before activation. The lamp lights when the start button is pressed and goes out when the stop button is pressed. |
| LEAK DIAGNOSTIC UNIT, VALVE | Certain markets only. A clicking noise is heard from the valve in the leak diagnostic unit at activation. |
| CANISTER PURGE (CP) VALVE | The EVAP canister purge valve opens and closes 5 times per second. The valve is activated by the start button and stopped using the stop button. The canister purge (CP) valve clicks. |
| THROTTLE UNIT 50-100% | The shutter in the throttle unit opens. The throttle unit opens to different positions depending on which activation is selected (50, 75 or 100%) Read off "Throttle Position Sensor (TP) potentiometer 1" or "Throttle Position Sensor (TP) potentiometer 2" at activation to check the function. The engine must be switched off at activation. |
| TURBOCHARGER CONTROL VALVE | There is a clicking noise from the turbocharger (TC) control valve at activation. The engine must be switched off at activation. |
| FUEL PUMP | The fuel pump (FP) relay is activated on activation. Fuel pump noise is heard from the fuel tank. |
HINT: Not all the parameters described need to be implemented in the control module. This varies between different systems and markets.
HINT: Bank 1: indicates all cylinders on 5 cylinder engines.
HINT: Bank 2: only used on 6 cylinder engines.
