Piston Rings, Replace
Remove piston con - rod assembly.

Remove any carbon deposit from nut using piston ring half.

Tension piston ring in cylinder and measure gap using feeler gauge.

When installing the new piston rings ensure that the upper piston ring is marked "TOP KL". On 25 NE engine the upper piston ring may be installed with either side up.
The lower piston ring is marked "TOP".
Important:
These marks must point upwards.
Each ring gap should be offset 180° to the next gap.
With oil scraper ring, ensure that tension spring is mounted so that spring gap is offset approx. 180° to ring gap.
