How to Remove and Install the Alternator Opel Omega B

Remove

  1. 1. Remove alternator ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt – Alternator, Remove and Install".
  2. 2. Drain air conditioning – see operation "Air Conditioning, Drain" in group "D".
  3. 3. Disconnect refrigerant line at separation point (2) using KM-917 .
  4. 4. Detach refrigerant line bracket (1) from front axle body and lay refrigerant line aside.
  1. 5. Detach guide roller (6) from alternator support.
  2. 6. Detach wiring harness plug (2) from alternator.
  3. 7. Detach cable connection (1) from alternator.
  4. 8. Detach fastening bolts (3) from alternator.
  5. 9. Remove guide roller bracket (4).
  6. 10. Remove alternator (5) downwards.

Install

  1. 11. Insert alternator from below.
  2. 12. Insert guide roller bracket.
  3. 13. Install fastening bolts for guide roller bracket and alternator – tightening torque 47 Nm / 35 lbf. ft
  4. 14. Attach cable connection to alternator.
  5. 15. Attach wiring harness plug to alternator.
  6. 16. Attach guide roller to timing case – tightening torque 24 Nm / 17.5 lbf. ft
  7. 17. Attach refrigerant line bracket to front axle body.
  8. 18. Connect refrigerant line with new gaskets.
  9. 19. Install alternator ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt – Alternator, Remove and Install".
  10. 20. Charge air conditioning – see operation "Air Conditioning, Evacuate and Charge" in group "D".
