Bosch Alternator, Disassemble and Assemble Opel Omega B

Remove

Remove pulley nut. Remove spring ring, washer, pulley halves, spacing ring, fan wheel, disc spring.

Remove

Remove voltage regulator with brush holder.

Remove

Remove drive bearing with claw-pole armature. Mark housing halves. Remove 4 fastening bolts.

Remove

Remove claw-pole armature from drive bearing – lay suitable pipe piece (1) underneath.

Remove

Remove bearing cover of drive bearing, remove ball bearing from drive bearing.

Remove

Remove ball bearing from armature shaft.

Remove

Remove nut from connecting pins "B+" and "D+". Remove washers and insulating material.

Remove

Remove diode plate together with stator winding from slip ring bearing. Remove spray sleeve (if present).

Remove

Carefully bend off diode plate. Unsolder stator winding from diode plate.

Install

Press ball bearing (1) onto armature shaft – with KM-151 or suitable piece of pipe.

Press ball bearing into drive bearing. Install bearing cover.

Install

Install claw pole armature into drive bearing. Press spacer washer (1) onto armature shaft – KM-151 or with suitable piece of pipe.

Stator winding – solder phase sections to diode plate.

Grease ball bearing with grease (brown).

Install diode plate with stator winding – note insulating sleeves for connecting pins. Install spray sleeve (if present). Assemble drive bearing and slip ring bearing – note markings made beforehand. Install housing bolts – see "Technical Data" for tightening torque.

Install disc spring, fan wheel, spacing ring, pulley halves, washer, spring ring. Install pulley bolts – see "Technical Data" for tightening torque.
