The rail pressure sensor measures the instantaneous pressure in the high-pressure rail and sends a voltage signal to the engine control unit.
Fuel flows through a bore to the rail pressure sensor, whose sensor diaphragm seals off the bore end.
The pressurised fuel passes to the diaphragm through a blind bore. On this diaphragm is the sensor element (semiconductor element) which is used to convert the pressure into an electric signal.
The signal generated is forwarded via connection lines to an analyser circuit (2) which forwards the amplified measuring signal to the engine control unit.
