How to Check the Timing Opel Omega B

Remove

1. 1. Remove cylinder head cover – see operation "Cylinder Head Cover, Remove and Install".
2. 2. Remove plug (1) from cylinder block.

Adjust

3. 3. With KM-6269 at torsional vibration damper hub, turn crankshaft in engine rotational direction until KM-813 (1) latches in bore for drive disc / flywheel.

Important. Important:

4. 4. Ensure that for vehicles with automatic transmission, the test drift does not latch into the depressions in the fastening bolts of the converter.

Inspect

5. 5. Cams (arrows) of 1st cylinder must face one another.
6. 6. Position peg gauge from KM-6267 (2) on intake camshaft (3) and exhaust camshaft (1) – peg gauge from KM-6267 must rest against cylinder head (arrow) without a gap.

Note. If peg gauge from KM-6267 does not rest on cylinder head without a gap, the timings must be adjusted – see operation "Timing, Adjust".

Remove

7. 7. Pull KM-813 out of bore in drive disc / flywheel.

Install

8. 8. Attach closure plugs to cylinder block.
9. 9. Install cylinder head cover – see operation "Cylinder Head Cover, Remove and Install".
