How to Check the Compression Opel Omega B

Note. Engine at operating temperature (oil temperature >= 80 °C).

Use compression recorder up to 40 bar.

Remove

  1. 1. Remove sheathed glow plugs – see operation "Sheathed glow plugs, remove and install".
  2. 2. Detach wiring harness plug (3) from camshaft pulse pick-up.
  3. 3. Detach wiring harness plugs (1) from injectors – x6. Install, attach
  4. 4. Install Adapter KM-6276 (2) in threaded bore of sheathed glow plugs.
  5. 5. Attach compression recorder to Adapter KM-6276 .

Important. Important:

  1. 6. Do not allow oil or grease to enter the cylinder that is being tested, since this may destroy the compression recorder.

Inspect

  1. 7. Activate starter for approx. 4 seconds whereby the minimum speed must be 300 rpm. Repeat this process on all the cylinders.
  2. 8. The pressure difference between the individual cylinders should not exceed 100 kPa (1 bar).

Remove

  1. 9. Detach compression recorder and KM-6276 .

Install

  1. 10. Attach wiring harness plugs to injectors – x6.
  2. 11. Attach wiring harness plug to camshaft pulse pick-up.
  3. 12. Install sheathed glow plugs – see operation "Sheathed glow plugs, remove and install".
