Remove
- 1. Open bonnet
- 2. Disconnect battery • Slacken nut
- 3. Unscrew coolant expansion tank closure cap
- 4. Loosen top radiator hose (1) • Release clamp
Note. Do not yet detach hose
- 5. Unclip coolant hose in 3 places
- 6. Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) • Unclip wiring harness plug • Unclip wiring harness
- 7. Detach coolant compensation tank • Unscrew bolt (1) • Unclip tank upward in 2 places
- 8. Detach 2 earth cables (1) from chassis • Unscrew nut (2)
- 9. Unlatch the fan housing • 2 release buttons (push arrows) and fold fan housing away from radiator
- 10. Raise vehicle by its full height
- 11. Drain coolant • Place collecting pan underneath. • Push on suitable hose (2) • Open drain cock (1) in the direction of the arrow • Collect coolant • Close drain cock
- 12. Pull off upper radiator hose (1)
- 13. Detach lower radiator hose (2) from radiator • Release clamp
- 14. Remove radiator • Unscrew 2x bolts (2) and (3) • Remove radiator with crossmember (1) downward
- 15. Detach attached parts from radiator • Pull off crossmember (3) • Remove fan housing – Unclip in 2 places (arrows) – Remove upward from brackets • Detach 2 rubber bearings at the top (1) • Unclip cover (2)
Install
- 16. Attach attached parts to radiator • Clip in cover • Attach 2x rubber bearings • Clip in fan housing • Push crossmember with rubber bearings onto cooling module
- 17. Install radiator • Insert cooling module with crossmember – Tighten 2x bolts
Note. Ensure that the upper rubber bearings seat in the guides
- 18. Attach lower radiator hose to radiator • Fasten clamp
- 19. Lower vehicle by its full height
- 20. Attach upper radiator hose to radiator • Fasten clamp
- 21. Attach 2 earth cables to chassis • Tighten nut
- 22. Attach coolant compensation tank • Tighten bolt
- 23. Clip in coolant hose in 3 places
- 24. Fix wiring harness plug • Attach wiring harness
- 25. Connect battery
- 26. Program volatile memories
- 27. Fill and bleed cooling system
- 28. Close bonnet
