- 1. Remove all pistons with con-rods
Note. Remove all pistons with con-rods - see operation "Remove and install all pistons with con-rods".
- 2. Remove piston rings • Remove piston rings using piston ring pliers (1)
- 3. Clean ring grooves
Note. Clean piston ring groove for rectangular compression ring (2), tapered compression ring (3) and oil scraper ring (4) using ground edge of an old piston ring.
- 4. Check gap • Insert piston rings in cylinder • Check gap using feeler gauge
Note. Permitted piston ring gaps - see "Technical Data"
- 5. Attach piston rings
Note. Use piston ring pliers to insert piston rings into ring groove with "TOP" marking facing up.
- 6. Adjust piston rings • Piston rings (I), rectangular compression ring (1) and tapered compression ring (2) offset by 180° • Offset oil scraper rings (3) (II) 25-50 mm to right and left of gap in intermediate ring
- 7. Check piston ring vertical play • Check with feeler gauge in ring gap
- 8. Replace piston rings • 3 pistons
- 9. Install all pistons with con-rods
Note. Install all pistons with con-rods - see operation "Remove and install all pistons with con-rods".
