| Complaint: | Bad cold start behavior at low ambient temperatures. In some cases it takes up to 15 seconds to start the engine / or several starting procedures. Sometimes a kind of rattling noise is audible during start. |

| Cause: | Problem caused by too low starter performance. Several investigations revealed that a starter is needed which runs engine RPM much faster through the resonance band of the dual mass flywheel. |
| Production: | As of the following VINs new part has been introduced (for Z13DTH only) in production: - Eisenach: W0L0SDL0876086701; - Zaragoza: W0L0SDL6874229466; - Ellesmere Port: W0L0AHL4878073662; - Bochum: W0L0AHL4872134678; - Antwerp: W0L0AHL0875125881. As of engineno.: 2428727 (12.12.2007) the new starter has been introduced in produktion for Z13DT and Z13DTJ . |
Remedy:
For Y13DTH and Z13DTH: In case of customer complaint please refer to Customer Satisfaction Programm 07-R-029 Corsa D, Astra H - Y/Z13DTH Starter.
For Y13DT, Z13DT and Z13DTJ: In case of customer complaint advice customer to press clutch during starting procedure in order to detach additional inertia weight. Make sure that customer will follow the preheat phase and that always a fully charged battery is installed. If starting behaviour cannot be improved, install a modified starter (Part-No.: 93 192 995 / Cat.-No.: 90 98 031).
