Engine Damping Blocks, Replace

Ground lead from battery.

Air intake hose (1).

Attach engine to Engine Holder KM-263-B.

Replace engine front right damping block.

Version with AC: detach panelling from wheel housing.

Engine damping block (1) from side member, slowly lower engine, engine damping block from engine holder.

Engine damping block (1) to engine holder, engine damping block to side member.

If removed: panelling to wheel housing.

Engine damping block (1) to engine holder -

35 Nm/26 lbf. ft.

Engine damping block to engine holder -

60 Nm/44 lbf. ft. 1)2).

Engine damping block (2) to side member -

65 Nm/48 lbf. ft. 2).

1) 1.8 / 2.0 ltr. engine as of MY '93

2) Recut threads on fastening bolts and insert with

Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Replace engine front left damping block.

Engine damping block (1) from side member,

engine damping block from engine holder (2).

Engine damping block to engine holder - 60 Nm/44 lbf. ft.

Engine damping block to side member - 65 Nm/48 lbf. ft. 1).

1) Recut threads on fastening bolts and insert with Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Replace engine rear damping block.

Engine damping block from front axle body (1) and engine holder (2). Engine holder (3) from transmission.

Engine holder to transmission - 60 Nm/44 lbf. ft. 1).

Engine damping block (1) to engine holder -

45 Nm/33 lbf. ft.

Engine damping block to front axle body -

40 Nm/29.5 lbf. ft. 2).

1) Use new locking plates.

2) Recut thread and insert bolts with Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347)

Remove Engine Holder KM-263-B.

Air intake hose, ground lead to battery.
