DTC P0339: CKP Sensor Circuit Intermittent Interruption Honda Crosstour I

Note. Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION (+).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Clear the DTC with the HAS.
  3. Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds.
  4. monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0339 in the DTC's MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS indicate FAILED? YES -Go to step 7 . NO -If the HAS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and
  5. Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes in the range of these recorded freeze data parameters: ENGINE SPEED VSS
  6. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0339 in the DTC's MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS indicate FAILED? YES -Go to next step. NO -If the HAS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the PCM. If the HAS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to 5 and recheck.
  7. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at these locations: CKP sensor PCM Engine ground Body ground Are the connections and terminals OK? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair the connections or terminals, then go to step 11 .
  8. Remove the oil pan (see «OIL PAN REMOVAL»(ref-360094-S14420612742010042600000) (+) then check for damage to the CKP sensor pulse plate. Is the pulse plate damaged? YES -Clean or replace the CKP sensor pulse plate (see «CKP PULSE PLATE REPLACEMENT»(ref-360094-S15051618382010042600000) (+) then go to step 11 . NO -Go to next step.
  9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  10. Replace the CKP sensor (see «CKP SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S10634021662010042600000) (+).
  11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  12. Reset the PCM with the HAS.
  13. Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-360079-S22847966492010042600000) (+).
  14. Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure (see «CKP PATTERN CLEAR/CKP PATTERN LEARN»(ref-360056-S26443759252010042600000) (+).
  15. Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds.
  16. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HAS. Is DTC P0339 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
