- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HAS.
- Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 RPM without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
- Hold the engine speed at 3,000-4,000 RPM for at least 10 seconds.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HAS. Is DTC P0325 indicated? YES -Go to next step. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HAS.
- Disconnect the knock sensor subharness 1P connector.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C47 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short in the wire between the PCM (C47) and the knock sensor subharness, then go to step 20 . NO -Go to next step.
- Connect the engine wire harness C103 1P connector terminal to body ground with a jumper wire.
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C47 and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair an open in the wire between the PCM (C47) and the engine wire harness (C103 connector), then go to step 20 .
- Remove the jumper wire from the engine harness.
- Remove the intake manifold (see «REMOVAL»(ref-360066-S08435445072010042600000) (+) and the injector base (see «INJECTOR BASE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360066-S34137645382010042600000) (+).
- Disconnect the knock sensor 1P connector.
- Check for continuity between the knock sensor subharness 1P connector terminal and body ground. Is there continuity? YES -Repair a short in the knock sensor subharness, then go to step 19 . NO -Go to next step.
- Check for an open in the knock sensor subharness. Is the harness OK? YES -Go to next step. NO -Repair an open in the knock sensor subharness, then go to step 19 .
- Replace the knock sensor (see «KNOCK SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S02385680692010042600000) (+).
- Install the injector base (see «INJECTOR BASE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-360066-S34137645382010042600000) (+) and the intake manifold (see «INSTALLATION»(ref-360066-S07298263282010042600000) (+).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HAS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-360079-S22847966492010042600000) (+).
- Hold the engine speed at 3,000-4,000 RPM for at least 10 seconds.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HAS. Is DTC P0325 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM, then go to step 27 . NO -Go to next step.
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0325 in the DTCs MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS indicate PASSED? YES -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated in step 25 , go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO -If the HAS indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . If the HAS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 24 .
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-360080-S11980508702010042600000) (+) or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) (+).
- Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3,000 RPM without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
- Hold the engine speed at 3,000 - 4,000 RPM for at least 10 seconds.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HAS. Is DTC P0325 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-360056-S32194616542010042600000) (+) then go to step 28 . If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1 . NO -Go to next step.
- Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0325 in the DTCs MENU with the HAS. Does the HAS Indicate PASSED? YES -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-360080-S27881728262010042600000) (+).
