Engine Damping Blocks, Engine, Short-Block
Engine Damping Blocks, Front, Remove and Install Engine Damping Blocks May Be Replace in Pairs Only.
Remove engine cover.
For vehicles with air conditioning, detach relay box from air cleaner housing and place to one side.
Remove air cleaner housing together with air intake hose - see illustration "Air Cleaner Housing, Air Duct".
Unclip fuel lines from cylinder head cover.
Attach engine to Engine Bridge KM-883-1. Remove front exhaust pipe.
Remove front left engine damping block (2) from front axle body, and remove engine damping block bracket (1) from transmission - remove engine damping block with bracket. Detach bracket from engine damping block.
Attach engine damping block to bracket - 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.
Attach engine damping block bracket to transmission - tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft.
Attach engine damping block to front axle body - tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.
Unscrew bracket (1) from front right engine damping block remove from engine damping block adapter (2). Lift engine as far as possible on right in direction of travel using Engine Bridge MKM-883-1 - thereby ensuring that no components are damaged.
Remove front right engine damping block (3) from side member (3 bolts) (arrows).
Attach front right engine damping block to side member - tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.
Attach bracket to engine damping block and engine damping block adapter - tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.
Remove engine bridge and install engine cover.
It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.
Clip fuel lines to cylinder head cover.
Install air cleaner housing with air intake hose - see illustration "Air Cleaner Housing, Air Duct".
For vehicles with air conditioning, attach relay box to air cleaner housing.
Connect front exhaust pipe to return manifold with new gasket and new fastening nuts - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.
Connect front exhaust pipe to muffler - tightening torque 12 Nm / 9 lbf. ft.
