How to Replace the Piston Opel Astra G

Remove

1. Remove pistons (4) • Clamp con-rod (5) • Remove circlip (1) • Press out piston pin (2)

Note. Use protective jaws

2. Fit piston rings and oil scraper ring • Clamp piston

Note. Use protective jaws

How to Replace the Piston

Install

3. Assemble piston • Marks on the piston head (3) and con-rod (6) point towards each other • Press in piston pin • Coat piston pin with engine oil. • Insert new circlip (1) in annular groove of piston

Note. Not position of ring gap - it must be within the area defined by Dimension I (mad 30°)
