[EVAP. Leakage Test]
Engine Control Module (ECM) controls Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) and Canister Close Valve (CCV) for EVAP System diagnosis if the conditions are satisfied.
ECM displays DTC codes after checking the leak rate through detecting change of FTPS signal. (Refer to the appropriate DTC guide service information for DTC codes.)In addition, EVAP Leak can be checked through the EVAP Leak Test function of the GDS diagnostic tool as shown below.
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Proceed with the test according to the screen introductions.
- Connect the GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Select "Vehicle, Model year, Engine, System".
- Select "Vehicle S/W Management".
- Select "Inspection / Test".
- Select "Evap Leak Test".
- Perform the procedure in accordance with the message.

- Remove the fuel tank. (Refer to " «FUEL TANK»(ref-535741-S17586079682013031200000) " in FL group.)
- Disconnect the vapor tube quick-connector (A) and the ventilation hose (B). (Scheme 453): Identifying Ventilation Hose
- Remove the canister after removing the installation bolts (A, B).

- Remove the canister assembly.
- Disconnect the ventilation hose (A) and then remove the nuts (B).
- Remove the auxiliary canister (C).

- Check for the following items visually. Cracks or leakage of the canister Loose connection, distortion, or damage of the vapor hose/tube A: Canister <--> Atmosphere (NVLD module and Fuel Tank Air Filter) B: Canister <--> Intake Manifold (PCSV) C: Canister <--> Fuel Tank
[Mechanical inspection]
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the NVLD connector.
- Remove the NVLD.
- Connect the hose (A) to the canister hose connected port as below.
- After immersing the hose (A) in water, Apply more than 6 mbar (positive) pressure to Atmosphere port (B).
- If the NVLD is normal, many bubbles will indicate large leak.
Note. Allowable internal leakage of 0.35 g/hr at 3 mbar will show as one bubble every second (approximately).

[Electrical inspection]
- Connect power supply line and ground line to the NVLD terminals as below.
- Measure current between the NVLD terminal 1 and battery (+) terminal during NVLD switch open.
- Measure current between the NVLD terminal 1 and battery (+) terminal during NVLD switch closed.
- Measure current between the NVLD terminal 2 and battery (+) terminal during NVLD switch open.
- Check the current is within the specification.
Note. NVLD switch is normal open. When applying more than 6 mbar (Positive) pressure to canister port, switch is closed.
