Active Control Engine Mount (Acm) System: NVH Honda Pilot II

Harsh Engine Vibrations Felt In the Passenger's Compartment

  1. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  2. Select the PGM-FI in the PGM-FI system, and check for PGM-FI system's DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 3 .
  3. Select the ACM in the PGM-FI system, and check for ACM system's DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. • NO - Go to step 4 .
  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  5. Prop the hood in the wide-open position (see step 1 on «ENGINE REMOVAL»(ref-333550-S08423022402009072100000) ).
  6. Select the ACM TEST in the ACM INSPECTION with the HDS.
  7. Do the Fr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Fr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - Turn the Fr. ACM SOL to ON, then go to step 10 . NO - Go to step 8 .
  8. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Fr. ACM SOL.V ACTIVATION in the ACM INSPECTION with the HDS.
  9. Check the front engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the front engine mount (see «FRONT ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-333550-S04264454812009072100000) ). If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the front engine mount (see «FRONT ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-333550-S04264454812009072100000) ).
  10. Do the Rr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Rr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - The ACM system is OK at this time. Check for other engine mount and other engine problems caused vibration. NO - Go to step 11 .
  11. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Rr. ACM SOL.V ACTIVATION in the ACM INSPECTION with the HDS.
  12. Check the rear engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-333550-S29131353122009072100000) ). If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-333550-S29131353122009072100000) ).

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(ref-333608-S13381695222009072100000) .
  2. Remove the passenger's dashboard undercover (see «PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-333587-S33316179992009072100000) ), and the right kick panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(ref-333585-S19189801972009072100000) ).
  3. Disconnect the engine mount control unit 16P connector (A).
  4. Remove the engine mount control unit (B).
  5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(ref-333608-S13381695222009072100000)
