- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0328 indicated? YES -Go to step 6. NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the knock sensor 2P connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Measure the voltage between knock sensor 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. Is there about 5 V? YES -Go to step 19 . NO -Go to step 10.
- Measure the voltage between knock sensor 2P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground. Is there about 5 V? YES -Go to step 11. NO -Go to step 15 .
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C38 and knock sensor 2P connector terminal No. 2. Is there continuity? YES -Go to step 26 . NO -Repair an open in the wire between the PCM (C38) and the knock sensor, then go to step 21 .
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Disconnect PCM connector C (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C46 and knock sensor 2P connector terminal No. 1. Is there continuity? YES -Go to step 26 . NO -Repair an open in the wire between the PCM (C46) and the knock sensor, then go to step 21 .
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Replace the knock sensor (see «KNOCK SENSOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-513153-S32539900252012110700000) ).
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure (see «PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-513173-S16164063582012110700000) ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0328 indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM, then go to step 1 . NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-513153-S06499438282012110700000) .
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software (see «PCM UPDATE»(ref-513153-S08553155092012110700000) ), or substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-513169-S18138486322012110700000) ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC P0328 Indicated? YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM (see «SUBSTITUTING THE PCM»(ref-513169-S18138486322012110700000) ), then recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1 . NO -If the PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM (see «PCM REPLACEMENT»(ref-513153-S08243124262012110700000) ). If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated «DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-513153-S06499438282012110700000) .
