A/C-HEATER CONTROL PANEL
The automatic A/C-heater system control panel permits automatic and manual operation of system by turning on/off AUTO mode. Temperature, blower fan speed, airflow control and air recirculation can be set as desired.
Airflow may be placed in defrost, vent, floor or any combination of positions by pressing desired buttons. In automatic mode, air distribution is automatically regulated. Air distribution may also be to floor, windshield and side windows.
Temperature control knobs are used to select desired temperature. The recirculated air button may be pressed to recirculate passenger compartment air. This function, however, will not work in defrost position. Pressing A/C ON and OFF button will turn A/C system on or off. Any button that has been depressed is indicated by an illuminated indicator light. (Схема №2)

A/C SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
- Ensure compressor drive belt is okay, fan motor runs at all speeds and that temperature vents shut completely with temperature switch in full cooling position.
- Ensure that all air comes from panel vents with mode control on vent position, recirculation motor is working and condenser fan and cooling fan are working.
- Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure compressor clutch engages when A/C is turned on. Set temperature switch to full cold position, place mode control to vent position, turn on recirculated air switch and set blower fan switch at 50 percent.
- Close engine hood, doors and windows. Run engine at 1500 RPM. Place thermometer in one of the center panel vents. Allow system to stabilize for at least 8 minutes. Check temperature in center panel vent. See «A/C SYSTEM PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-139473-S13364334822002050100000) table.

A/C SYSTEM PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS (1)
AIR QUALITY SENSOR
Remove windshield wipers and cowl to access air quality sensor. Start engine. Turn A/C on. Spray a small amount of Quick Rust Penetrator (1161422-9) into air quality sensor opening. If air quality sensor is okay, air intake damper should close, then gradually open after about 15 seconds. Replace sensor as necessary. See AIR QUALITY SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
AIR/POLLEN FILTERS
Note. Vehicles are equipped with a separate multi-filter and air cleaner. Removal and installation procedures for both filters are identical.
