How to Replace (With Air Conditioning) the Alternator Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Disconnect battery negative lead
  2. 2. Remove upper front panel – see operation ”Upper Front Panel, Remove and Install or Replace”
  3. 3. Release pulley (1) from power steering pump (2) • Release 3x bolt (3); do not remove at this stage
  1. 4. Raise vehicle
  2. 5. Remove engine and transmission undershield from vehicle • Remove 8x bolt
  3. 6. Remove splash panel, right side • Release washer hose (if installed) from 2x clip • Remove 2x bolt, screw
  1. 7. Remove ribbed V-belt from engine • Rotate tension roller clockwise, then lock using Locating Pin KM-6130 (1)
  1. 8. Rotate tension roller clockwise, then remove locating pin KM-6130
  2. 9. Remove tension roller (1) from engine • Remove 2x bolt (2)
  3. 10. Remove guide roller (4) from engine • Remove cover (3) • Remove bolt
  1. 11. Lower vehicle
  2. 12. Remove pulley from power steering pump • Remove 3x bolt
  3. 13. Remove deflector (1) from auxiliary support bracket • Remove bolt (2) • Release 2x clip
  1. 14. Disconnect harness connector (1) from alternator
  2. 15. Disconnect harness lead (3) from alternator • Remove nut (2)
  1. 16. Release alternator from auxiliary support bracket (1) • Remove bolt (2) • Release bolt (3)

Note. The lower bolt cannot be removed at this stage.

  1. 17. Remove alternator from engine compartment
  2. 18. Remove lower bolt from alternator

Install

  1. 19. Install lower bolt to new alternator
  2. 20. Position alternator to auxiliary support bracket
  3. 21. Secure alternator to auxiliary support bracket (1) • Install bolt (2) 25 Nm • Secure bolt (3) 25 Nm
  1. 22. Connect harness connector (1) to alternator
  2. 23. Connect harness lead (3) to alternator • Install nut (2)
  1. 24. Install deflector (1) to auxiliary support bracket • Secure 2x clip • Install bolt (2) 10 Nm
  1. 25. Install pulley to power steering pump • Install 3x bolt; do not tighten at this stage
  2. 26. Raise vehicle
  3. 27. Install new guide roller (4) to engine • Install bolt 44 Nm • Install cover (3)
  4. 28. Install new tension roller (1) to engine • Install 2x bolt (2) 25 Nm
  1. 29. Rotate tension roller clockwise, then lock using Locating Pin KM-6130
  2. 30. Install new ribbed V-belt to engine • Rotate tension roller clockwise, then remove Locating Pin KM-6130 (1)
  1. 31. Install splash panel, right side • Install 2x bolt 8 Nm , screw 6 Nm • Secure washer hose (if Installed) to 2x clip
  1. 32. Install engine and transmission undershield to vehicle • Install 8x bolt 8 Nm
  2. 33. Lower vehicle
  3. 34. Secure pulley (1) to power steering pump (2) • Secure 3x bolt (3) 10 Nm
  1. 35. Install upper front panel – see operation ”Upper Front Panel, Remove and Install or Replace”
  2. 36. Connect battery negative lead
  3. 37. Program all volatile memories
