How to Replace the Starter Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Disconnect battery negative lead
  2. 2. Remove upper front panel – see operation ”Upper Front Panel, Remove and Install or Replace”
  3. 3. Release hose (1) from high pressure pipe for power steering • Release from clip (2)
  1. 4. Release high pressure pipe (1) for power steering from oil cooler housing • Remove bolt (2)
  1. 5. Remove deflector (1) from auxiliary support bracket • Remove bolt (2) • Release 2x clip
  1. 6. Disconnect harness connector (1) from alternator
  2. 7. Disconnect harness lead (3) from alternator • Remove nut (2)
  1. 8. Disconnect harness connector from oil pressure switch
  2. 9. Disconnect 2x harness lead from starter • Remove nut (1) • Release nut (2)
  3. 10. Release earth lead from starter • Remove bolt (3), then move to one side
  1. 11. Remove starter from transmission • Remove 2x bolt (1)

Install

  1. 12. Install new starter to transmission • Install 2x bolt (1) 44 Nm
  1. 13. Connect 2x harness lead to starter • Install nut (1) 8 Nm • Secure nut (2) 5 Nm
  2. 14. Secure earth lead to starter • Install bolt (3) 21 Nm
  1. 15. Connect harness connector to oil pressure switch
  2. 16. Connect harness connector (1) to alternator
  3. 17. Connect harness lead (3) to alternator • Install nut (2)
  1. 18. Install deflector (1) to auxiliary support bracket • Secure 2x clip • Install bolt (2) 10 Nm
  1. 19. Secure high pressure pipe (1) for power steering to oil cooler housing • Install bolt (2)
  1. 20. Secure hose (1) to high pressure pipe for power steering • Secure to clip (2)
  1. 21. Install upper front panel – see operation ”Upper Front Panel, Remove and Install or Replace”
  2. 22. Connect battery negative lead
  3. 23. Program all volatile memories
