Remove
- 1. Open bonnet
Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.
- 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground cable
- 3. Release upper front panelling (1) • Unscrew 2 bolts • Remove cover of radiator/condenser
- 4. Raise vehicle
- 5. Release lower front panelling • Remove 3x clips (1) • Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)
- 6. Lower vehicle • Half height
- 7. Detach front side panelling • Unscrew 4x bolts (arrows)
- 8. Remove front panelling
Note. 2nd mechanic is required.
- 9. Lower vehicle • Half height
- 10. Detach wiring harness plug for fan motor (1) • Unclip from bracket
- 11. Remove resonator • Remove bolt (arrow) • Remove resonator from guide
- 12. Unclip fan housing • Unclip 4 from bracket
- 13. Suspend radiator • On upper radiator bracket
- 14. Raise vehicle • Half height
- 15. Remove 2 lower radiator brackets • Unscrew 4x bolts (1, 2)
- 16. Lower vehicle
- 17. Remove fan housing
Note. Take off carefully downwards. 2nd fitter required
- 18. Detach fan motor • From fan housing – Unscrew 3 bolts (arrows)
Install
- 19. Attach fan motor • On fan housing – Tighten 3x bolts – Tightening torque 6 Nm
- 20. Install fan housing • To radiator
Note. 2nd mechanic is required.
- 21. Clip in fan housing • In 4x brackets
- 22. Raise vehicle
- 23. Attach 2x radiator brackets at the bottom • Tighten 4x bolts – Tightening torque 15 Nm
- 24. Position front panelling
Note. 2nd mechanic is required.
- 25. Fasten upper front panelling • Position radiator cover • Tighten 2 bolts
- 26. Raise vehicle
- 27. Fasten lower front panelling • Install 3x clips • Connect wiring harness plug.
- 28. Connect fan motor wiring harness plug • Attach to bracket
- 29. Lower vehicle
- 30. Attach side front panelling • Tighten 4x bolts
- 31. Lower vehicle
- 32. Fit radiator
- 33. Install resonator • Tighten bolt
- 34. Connect battery
- 35. Calibrate steering angle sensor • Turn on ignition
Note. Turn the steering wheel once from the right stop to left stop.
- 36. Program volatile memory
- 37. Close bonnet
