How to Replace (With Air Conditioning) the Radiator Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground clamp from ground terminal – Undo nut
  3. 3. Release upper front panelling • Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows) • Remove radiator/condenser cover (1)
  1. 4. Attach condenser to front-end at top • Attach 2x tension straps
  2. 5. Unclip 2x coolant hoses from fan housing
  3. 6. Raise vehicle all the way
  4. 7. Drain coolant Warning: Cooling system is pressurised. Take care when opening the coolant compensation tank cover. • Place collecting basin underneath • Open drain bolt (arrow) • Open the coolant compensation tank cover
  1. 8. Release lower front panelling • Remove 3x clips (1) • Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)
  2. 9. Lower vehicle by half of its height
  3. 10. Release side front panelling • Unscrew 4x bolts (arrows)
  1. 11. Detach front panelling

Note. Use a second person

  1. 12. Disconnect 2x fan motor wiring harness plugs (1)
  1. 13. Detach fan motor wiring harness • Disconnect compressor wiring harness plug – Cut cable ties • Disconnect wiring harness plug for coolant temperature sensor (1) – Unclip wiring harness
  1. 14. Detach 2x coolant hoses from radiator • Release 2x clamp
  2. 15. Detach 2x lower radiator brackets • Unscrew 4x bolts (1) and (2)
  1. 16. Lower vehicle all the way
  2. 17. Detach coolant hose from coolant compensation tank • Release clamp
  3. 18. Release receiver-dryer • Detach rubber strap (1)
  1. 19. Detach block connector bracket • Unscrew bolt (1)
  1. 20. Detach condenser • Unscrew 2x bolt (3) and (4) • Unhook 2x from brackets (1) and (2)
  2. 21. Raise vehicle by half of its height
  3. 22. Remove radiator down and out
  4. 23. Detach fan housing from radiator • Unscrew 2x bolt • Unclip fan housing
  5. 24. Unscrew coolant temperature sensor

Install

  1. 25. Install coolant temperature sensor
  2. 26. Attach fan housing to radiator • Tighten 2 bolts
  3. 27. Attach radiator to condenser • Insert radiator from below – Radiator must engage in upper bracket • Insert radiator in condenser • Tighten 2 bolts
  4. 28. Fasten block connector bracket • Tighten bolt
  5. 29. Secure receiver-dryer • Attach rubber strap
  6. 30. Raise vehicle by half of its height
  7. 31. Attach wiring harness plug • Connect coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug – Attach cable ties • Connect compressor wiring harness plug – Clip wiring harness into position • Connect 2x wiring harness plug for fan motor
  8. 32. Attach 2 lower radiator brackets • Tighten 4x bolts 15 Nm
  9. 33. Attach 2x radiator hoses • Secure 2x clamp
  10. 34. Lower vehicle all the way
  11. 35. Unhook radiator from front-end at top • Release 2x retaining straps
  12. 36. Attach coolant compensation tank coolant hose to radiator • Fasten clamp
  13. 37. Clip 2x coolant lines into fan housing
  14. 38. Position front panelling

Note. Use a second person

  1. 39. Fasten upper front panelling • Place radiator cover in position • Tighten 2 bolts
  2. 40. Raise vehicle all the way
  3. 41. Fasten lower front panelling • Install 3x clips • Connect wiring harness plug
  4. 42. Fill and bleed cooling system
  5. 43. Close bonnet
