Removing and Installing Coolant Connection Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground cable

Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.

  1. 3. Raise vehicle
  2. 4. Drain coolant • Place collecting basin underneath • Open drain bolt
  3. 5. Slacken air intake pipe • From turbocharger – Release clamp
  4. 6. Lower vehicle
  5. 7. Remove charge air hose • from turbocharger, exhaust gas return valve • Release 2x clamp
  6. 8. Remove air intake manifold • Release clamp • Unscrew 2x bolt • Remove engine bleeding hose (1) – from cylinder head cover • Detach air intake manifold from turbocharger • Unclip wiring harness
  1. 9. Remove coolant pipe • Release 2x clamp • Unscrew bolt (arrow)
  1. 10. Detach coolant hose (2) • from coolant connection – Undo hose clamp
  2. 11. Remove coolant connection (1) • Unscrew 2x bolt
  1. 12. Clean sealing surfaces

Install

  1. 13. Install coolant connection • Apply sealant • Tighten 2 bolts
  2. 14. Attach coolant hose • from coolant connection – Fit hose clamp
  3. 15. Install coolant pipe • Renew seal ring • Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 95,1 Nm • Attach coolant hoses – Replace 2x clamps
  4. 16. Install air intake manifold • place against turbocharger • Install engine bleed hose • Tighten 2 bolts – Tightening torque 14,5 Nm • Tighten clamp – Tightening torque 5 Nm • Clip wiring harness into position
  5. 17. Install charge air hose • Tighten upper clamp – Tightening torque 5 Nm
  6. 18. Raise vehicle
  7. 19. Attach air intake pipe • To turbocharger – Tighten clamp – Tightening torque 5 Nm

Important. Ensure that air intake manifold is correctly positioned

  1. 20. For charge air hose • Tighten clamp – Tightening torque 5 Nm
  2. 21. Close coolant drain bolt
  3. 22. Lower vehicle
  4. 23. Top up cooling system • Observe specified coolant quantity

Note. Fill and bleed cooling system - see operation "Filling and bleeding the cooling system".

  1. 24. Connect battery
  2. 25. Calibrate steering angle sensor • Switch ignition on

Note. Turn steering wheel once from right stop to left stop.

  1. 26. Program volatile memory
  2. 27. Close bonnet
