Remove
Starter – see operation "Starter Remove and Install".
Disassemble
Nut from terminal M of solenoid switch and disconnect cable.
Inspect
Pull out test.
Connect solenoid switch to battery – negative cable to terminal M and positive cable to terminal S. If pinion ejects the pull-in coil is satisfactory.
Hold in test.
Disconnect negative cable from terminal M; the pinion should remain ejected.
Return test.
Disconnect positive cable; the pinion should return immediately.
Assemble
Cable to terminal M of solenoid switch - nut 9 Nm.
