How to Check (Starter Installed) the Starter Opel Astra G

Test conditions: proper charge state and ground connection of battery.

Inspect

Check starter cable: proper connection to starter and positive battery terminal, the highest permissible voltage drop in the cable during the starting operation is 0.5 volt – measure voltage at starter terminal "50". For greater voltage drops: check contact part of ignition lock, selector lever switch and plug connections for adequate contact.

Check starter: connect Opel Tester – proceed according to operating instructions.

Note. A short-circuit test must not be carried out because there is a risk of causing initial damage to the commutator.
