Coolant Compensation Tank Replacement Opel Agila B

Remove

  1. 1. Remove battery from vehicle • Disconnect battery negative lead (3) – Release nut • Disconnect battery positive lead – Release cover (1) – Release nut (2) • Remove bracket from battery tray – Remove bolt (4)

Important. Do not remove cap from radiator when hot

  1. 2. Remove pressure cap from coolant compensation tank
  2. 3. Disconnect lower coolant hose (3) from coolant expansion tank • Release clip • Install 2x new blanking plug
  3. 4. Disconnect 2x coolant hose (2) from coolant expansion tank • Release 2x clip • Release coolant hose from clip • Install 4x new blanking plug
  4. 5. Remove coolant expansion tank (1) from vehicle • Slide off
  1. 6. Drain coolant from expansion tank • Place collecting container below • Open radiator drain cock and allow coolant fluid to drain from radiator valve • Close radiator drain cock • Remove collecting container

Install

Important. Only use coolant approved by the manufacturer and ensure a concentration of 50% water and 50% anti-freeze.

  1. 7. Install new coolant expansion tank (1) to vehicle • Slide on
  2. 8. Connect 2x coolant hose (2) to coolant expansion tank • Remove 4x blanking plug • Secure 2x clip
  3. 9. Connect lower coolant hose (3) to coolant expansion tank • Remove 2x blanking plug • Secure clip
  4. 10. Fill cooling system to maximum level of coolant compensation tank
  5. 11. Install pressure cap to coolant compensation tank
  1. 12. Install bracket to battery tray • Install bolt (4) • Connect battery positive lead – Secure nut (2) – Secure cover (1)
  2. 13. Install battery to vehicle • Connect battery negative lead (3) – Secure nut 11 Nm
  1. 14. Program all volatile memories – see operation “Program Volatile Memories”
