Inspect
- 1. Inspect cooling system for leakage or damage
- 2. Remove radiator cap
- 3. Check and correct coolant fluid level
- 4. Install pressure tester (1) to radiator • Follow manufacturer's instructions
- 5. Pressure test cooling system • Apply a maximum pressure of 110 kPa (1.1 bar, 15.9 psi)
- 6. Inspect cooling system and engine assembly for leaks • Observe pressure tester gauge for any signs of pressure loss within cooling system
- 7. Remove pressure tester from radiator • Release pressure before removing pressure tester
- 8. Install pressure tester to radiator cap (2)
- 9. Pressure test radiator cap • Apply a maximum pressure of 110 kPa (1.1 bar, 15.9 psi)
Note. If the radiator cap fails the pressure test, then a replacement radiator cap is required.
- 10. Remove pressure tester from radiator cap • Release pressure before removing pressure tester
- 11. Tighten hose clamps and inspect all hoses
Note. Replace any hose that is cracked, swollen or otherwise deteriorated.
- 12. Check and correct coolant fluid level
- 13. Install radiator cap
