Inspect

  1. 1. Inspect cooling system for leakage or damage
  2. 2. Remove radiator cap
  3. 3. Check and correct coolant fluid level
  4. 4. Install pressure tester (1) to radiator • Follow manufacturer's instructions
  5. 5. Pressure test cooling system • Apply a maximum pressure of 110 kPa (1.1 bar, 15.9 psi)
  6. 6. Inspect cooling system and engine assembly for leaks • Observe pressure tester gauge for any signs of pressure loss within cooling system
  7. 7. Remove pressure tester from radiator • Release pressure before removing pressure tester
  8. 8. Install pressure tester to radiator cap (2)
  9. 9. Pressure test radiator cap • Apply a maximum pressure of 110 kPa (1.1 bar, 15.9 psi)

Note. If the radiator cap fails the pressure test, then a replacement radiator cap is required.

  1. 10. Remove pressure tester from radiator cap • Release pressure before removing pressure tester
  1. 11. Tighten hose clamps and inspect all hoses

Note. Replace any hose that is cracked, swollen or otherwise deteriorated.

  1. 12. Check and correct coolant fluid level
  2. 13. Install radiator cap
