Replace Piston Rings Opel Agila A

Remove

  1. 1. Remove all the pistons with con-rod

Note. Remove all the pistons with con-rod - see operation "All the Pistons with Con-Rod, Remove and Install".

  1. 2. Remove piston rings • Take out piston rings with piston ring pliers (1)
  2. 3. Clean ring grooves

Note. Clean piston ring groove for rectangular ring (2), tapered compression ring (3) and oil scraper ring (4) with the machined side of an old piston ring.

  1. 4. Check stroke clearance • Insert piston rings in cylinder • Check stroke clearance with feeler gauge

Note. Permissible piston ring strokes - see "Technical Data"

  1. 5. Install piston rings

Note. Insert piston rings in the ring groove with the marking "TOP" at the top using piston ring pliers

Install

  1. 6. Adjust piston rings • Rectangular ring (1) and tapered compression ring (4) offset by 180° • Offset oil scraper rings (5) 25 – 50 mm from the stroke of the spacer ring (2, 3) to the left and right
  2. 7. Check piston ring height clearance • Check with feeler gauge in ring groove

  1. 8. Replace piston rings • 3 Piston
  2. 9. Install all the pistons with con-rod
