Engine - Repair - Cooper (W10 Engine): Removal & Installation MINI Cooper I

Securing engine in installation position with special tool (W10/W11)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks

1. Disconnect battery (W11).
2. Remove battery (W10). Refer to «12 00 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY»(ref-203047-S09116207412005103000000) .

Install special tool 51 2 160.

Scheme 2

Reduce excess pressure in cooling system.

Release screw (1).

Lay bracket for oxygen sensor to one side.

Release screw (2).

Release coolant line clamp (3).

Scheme 3

Screw special tool 11 8 260 onto cylinder head.

Note. The water pipe is also secured to special tool 11 8 260 at the same time. (Scheme 4)

Scheme 4

Assemble special tool 00 0 200 with special tools 00 0 201 / 00 0 202 / 00 0 205 / 00 0 207 / 00 0 209 and fit.

Note. Remove plug before fitting special tool.

Risk Of Damage On Both Side Walls.

Scheme 5

Assemble engine.
