Special tools required

  1. 11 8 280
  2. 11 8 390

Necessary Preliminary Tasks

  1. Remove tank venting valve. Refer to «13 90 500 REPLACING TANK VENTING VALVE»(ref-203052-S10207261352005103000000) .
  2. Remove underpan. Refer to «51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION (ENGINE)»(ref-203078-S25934204192005103000000) .
WARNINGMake sure the locking pin is completed inserted in the drive belt clamping fixture (risk of injury).

Note. If the drive belt is to be reused: Mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same direction of travel.

Relieve tension on belt with special tool 11 8 390 and lock belt tensioner with special tool 11 8 280, remove drive belt.

Installation

Check drive belt for coolant and oil residue and replace if necessary.

Ensure correct installation position ( risk of damage).

Assemble engine.
